Objective: In this study, male and female kabaddi players at the university level will have their levels of sports competition anxiety examined and compared. One important psychological component that can have a big impact on athletic performance is competitive anxiety, especially in high-pressure team sports like kabaddi.
Method: A sample of 30 male and 30 female university kabaddi players was chosen from GGV through purposive sampling as part of the study's comparative research design. Anxiety levels were measured using the Sports Competition Anxiety Test (SCAT). To identify significant differences between groups, data were analyzed using independent t-tests and descriptive statistics. According to the study's findings, there are significant differences in the anxiety levels of male and female players, with female players exhibiting somewhat higher levels of competitive anxiety than their male counterparts.
Results: The findings highlight the value of psychological counseling and training in university kabaddi players, especially for female athletes who might be more susceptible to performance anxiety. In order to maximize athletic performance, the study emphasizes the necessity for coaches, trainers, and sports psychologists to combine mental training techniques with physical preparation.
