Abstract:This study aims to analyze the physical condition of indoor hockey athletes in Palembang as an effort to determine the level of physical readiness among young athletes in supporting sports achievements. The study employed a quantitative descriptive method with a purposive sampling technique involving 24 athletes, consisting of 12 male and 12 female participants aged 17-20 years.
The research instrument included five physical test components, namely: the V Sit and Reach to measure flexibility; Sit-Up (60 seconds) to assess abdominal muscle strength and endurance; Squat Thrust (30 seconds) to evaluate lower body muscle strength; and the PACER Test to measure cardiorespiratory endurance.
The results showed that most athletes, both male and female, demonstrated very good levels of flexibility. Abdominal and lower body muscle endurance fell within the fair to good category, while cardiorespiratory endurance was classified as good.
