Author(s): Hayder Talib Faisal and Ahmed Hashim Hammood

Abstract:

Background: Identifying High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) exercises and speed types (kinetic response speed, transition speed, Speed Strength), and identifying the effect of High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) exercises on developing speed types (kinetic response speed, transition speed, and Speed Strength) for midfielders in the Iraqi (reserve) football league.

Research Methodology: The researcher applied the experimental method to suit the nature of a problem to be solved. The research sample was sufficiently obtained through the deliberate sample method, from a single sample consisted of (10) players, they were selected from the Al-Talaba Club in the Iraqi (reserve) football league.

Results: The researcher considers this result to be down to the effect of High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) exercises, which would be an integrated complementary training system that would develop the physical and skill capabilities of referees effectively, regarding the quality of the exercises. (High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), has an effect on developing transition speed, response speed, Speed Strength.

Conclusion: The study's findings indicated that High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) represented a catalyst in developing the players' speed types in the Iraqi Reserve Football League that players improved their kinetic response speed considerable, allowing greater competence to their speedy reaction of events occurring during matches
