Abstract:The study was to investigate whether engaging in bilateral dribbling could improve the dribbling abilities of collegiate basketball players. Thirty male basketball athletes from Bharathiar University in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, aged between 18 and 25 years, were randomly chosen as participants. These individuals were split into two groups of fifteen each. Group I functioned as the bilateral dribbling group, while Group II served as the control group. The experimental group underwent a bilateral dribbling training program for twelve weeks, alongside their regular academic and athletic schedules. In contrast, the control group continued with their standard routine without any supplementary training. Dribbling performance was evaluated using the Johnson Basketball Skill Test. A dependent t-test was utilized for analysing the data, with the level of significance set at 0.05. Findings revealed that, following the twelve-week bilateral dribbling program, the experimental group demonstrated a marked improvement in dribbling skills compared to the control group.
