The impact of yoga on mental health and emotional well-being

Abstract:In today's fast paced and highly competitive world, we suffer from various psychological disorders like stress, anxiety, depression, aggression, followed by various physical disorders. Our mental health and emotional well-being are increasingly under strain. Yoga can help us to get rid of these sufferings reducing our stress and anxiety, lowering cortisol level, stimulating parasympathetic nervous system, improving our mood and securing sound sleep. Regular practice of asana like Balasana, Padmasana, Marjariasana, Trikonasana, Viparitkarani, Bhujangasana, Shavasana, Pranayama like Nadi Shodhan, Kapalbhati, Bhramori and Meditation can enhance our emotional balance, self-awareness and promote a sense of inner peace.
