Background: Non-Specific Low Back Pain (NSLBP) is defined as pain or discomfort in the lumbar region, usually between the 12th rib and the gluteal folds, that cannot be attributed to a specific or identifiable cause and it is often linked to mechanical stress or strain in the muscles, ligaments or joints in the lower back. NSLBP causes functional limitation by impairing spinal movement and causing muscle stiffness. The pain can also lead to muscle weakness and reduced range of motion, further hindering mobility and normal daily functions.
Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of Janda’s approach on pain and functional limitation in patients with non-specific low back pain.
Result: After 4 weeks of intervention, there was a reduction of pain level in Visual Analogue Scale, as well as functional limitation scores showed improvements in Functional Rating Index compared to its pre-test value.
Conclusion: The findings of this study concluded that Janda’s approach reduced pain and improved functional abilities in patients with non-specific low back pain.
