Author(s): Akib Amin Shaiek and Ayash Amin Shaiek
Abstract:This study explores the general wellbeing of volleyball and cricket players through a meta-analysis of 20 research articles published between 2020 and 2024. The analysis highlights the physical, mental, emotional, and social dimensions of wellbeing among players in these team sports. Key findings reveal that volleyball players exhibit better physical agility, mental resilience, and social cohesion, while cricket players face higher stress levels, injury rates, and burnout due to prolonged gameplay and individual responsibilities. Effective interventions such as mindfulness training, stress management programs, and yoga have been shown to improve wellbeing for players in both sports. Nutritional habits, sleep quality, and workload management also emerged as critical determinants of general wellbeing. This comprehensive review provides actionable insights for coaches, trainers, and policymakers to develop tailored strategies for enhancing athletes’ overall health and performance.
