Abstract:Any demand or challenge (referred to as a stressor) that throws off a person's equilibrium or comfort level causes stress, which is the body's physical, mental, and emotional reaction. The "fight or flight" response is a natural reflex that helps people copes with challenging circumstances. The term "stress in educators" describes the mental, emotional, and physical strain that academic staff members and teachers endure as a result of the responsibilities and expectations of their jobs. It occurs when a person's capacity to manage their workload, obligations, and expectations is exceeded. Due to their rigorous workloads, emotional obligations, and the ongoing demands of academic settings, educators frequently experience high levels of stress. This study investigates how hobbies and leisure pursuits can reduce stress and improve teachers' wellbeing. It highlights how engagement in leisure activities—ranging from creative and physical pursuits to social and mindfulness practices—can provide emotional relief, improve physical health, foster social connections, and enhance job satisfaction. The paper also emphasizes the importance of institutional support in promoting such activities through wellness programs and flexible scheduling. Findings suggest that regular participation in hobbies not only reduces stress but also boosts motivation, creativity, and overall teaching effectiveness, ultimately benefiting both educators and students. It emphasizes the ways that leisure activities, from artistic and athletic endeavours to social and mindfulness exercises, can relieve stress, promote physical well-being, strengthen bonds with others, and increase job satisfaction. The significance of institutional support in encouraging such activities through wellness initiatives and flexible scheduling is also emphasized in the research. Research indicates that engaging in hobbies on a regular basis not only lowers stress levels but also increases motivation, creativity, and the effectiveness of instruction overall, which benefits both teachers and students.
