A comparative study of common sports injuries of selected team and individual sports competition

Abstract:
The investigation in this study will bring awareness towards injury prevention and management among coaches, players, organizers, teachers and coaches to recognize which injury relate to which sports and which body parts is highly probable to what type of injury. This examination will add to the current assemblage of information about the investment and gives point by point data about the injuries that a player can sustain in particular sports. The purpose of this study was to compare the common sports injuries between the team game and individual sports competition. For accomplish the study a total 300 players were selected as sample through random sample technique. Out of the total sample 150 players were from team games and 150 players were from individual sports competition. In individual games Knee is found highest body parts associated with injuries Individual Game also. A total 438 responses were noticed. 56 responses are Knee which constitutes 12.8% of the total sample, second, highest body part is Shoulder. In team games Knee is highest frequent body part associated with injuries in team games. A total 415 frequencies of body parts recorded during data collection. 56 responses are Knee which constitutes13.5%of the total sample and probability of injury occurrence in knee is 48.3% respectively. In conclusion Knee, ankle, and shoulder are most frequent and common body part which associated with injuries. Majority of injuries associated with the lower extremities in both the games. The leg is important in weight bearing part for speed in sport, subsequently the knee, ankle joints, foot, the muscles of the upper and lower legs are subjected to the greatest physical pressures that led to injury.
