Gut check: How digestive health impacts your volleyball game

Abstract:
Volleyball is a high-intensity sport, participationrnin which helps to enhance cardiovascular fitness, muscle strength and stress management,rnall of which are the factors that are known to influence gut microbiomerncomposition positively. The gut is also known as the second brain plays a vitalrnrole in immune function, nutrient absorption and mental health.This research tries tornfind association between physical activity and gut health by emphasizing thernrole of exercise in promoting a varied gut microbiota. Recognizing this linkrncould have significant implications for optimizing athlete health, performance,rnand recovery strategies.
Objective: To evaluaternvolleyball athlete’s dietary habits and their impact on their gut health.
Methodology: The nutritionalrnassessment of 88 volleyball athletes was studied using a questionnaire on gutrnhealth.
Conclusion:rnIt was observed that athletes with high stress ratings had low naturalrnprobiotic consumption.
