Abstract:This study examines the effect of a six-week physical training program on speed, agility, and explosive power in telic and paratelic judo players. Thirty judo athletes, aged 15 to 20, were classified into telic dominant (n=15) and paratelic dominant (n=15) groups using the Paratelic Dominance Scale (PDS). Both groups underwent routine judo training, with additional combined physical training three times weekly and for six weeks. Performance was measured through standardized tests for speed (30-meter sprint), agility (4x10 Shuttle Run), and explosive power (standing broad jump). Results showed significant improvements in all parameters across both groups, with telic players demonstrating greater gains in explosive power, while paratelic players showed more consistent improvements in speed and agility. The study highlights the importance of considering psychological orientation when designing tailored training programs for judo athletes, as telic and paratelic players may respond differently to physical conditioning. Further research with larger samples is recommended to extend these findings.
