Effect of yogic practices and modified games on selected physiological variables of differently abled students: A literature review

Author(s): MB Bindil and Yuvraj Srivastava

Abstract:
This literature review investigates the effects of yogic practices and modified games on specific physiological variables—such as heart rate, vital capacity, respiratory rate, and muscular strength—among differently abled students. With a growing emphasis on inclusive education and physical fitness for all, it is crucial to explore interventions that support the physical well-being of students with disabilities. An analysis of relevant studies indicates that both yogic and modified physical activities contribute to improvements in cardiovascular efficiency, pulmonary function, and overall fitness among differently abled populations. The methodology employed includes secondary data analysis through peer-reviewed journal articles and empirical studies. The review concludes that consistent engagement in yoga and adaptive games positively influences health outcomes and fosters psycho-physical integration in differently abled learners.
