Mental toughness and anxiety among experienced and debut national Kho-Kho players

Abstract:The purpose of the study was to find out the psychological variable anxiety and mental toughness among debut and experienced kho-kho national level players in Kerala, aged between 18-25 years. From the total of sixty (N=60) subjects, the subjects were further delimited to 30 subjects in each category. The subjects were randomly selected and were shortlisted through purposive sampling. The data were from the athletes by administrating the questionnaire in online mode. The questionnaire consisted of Mental Toughness questionnaire; (Dr. Alan Goldberg, 2004)
[6] and anxiety questionnaire, SCAT Mertens (1990). The players were assured regarding the confidentiality of their responses. The data was analyzed by computing descriptive statistics. To address the research issues, hypothesis was tested and discussed. The study concluded that there is no significant difference found in mental toughness and there is significant difference found in anxiety such as anxiety and mental toughness among debut and experienced Kho-Kho players in Kerala.
