Attitudes of physical education students toward online vs. offline physical activity classes
Author(s): Achal Raj Mishra
Abstract:This study aimed to explore the attitudes of Physical Education (PE) students toward online versus offline physical activity classes. A total of 150 students (aged 18-23) from Barkatullah University, Bhopal, participated in the study. The research utilized a self-structured questionnaire comprising Likert-scale items to assess the students' perceptions of online and offline PE classes. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to compare attitudes toward both modes of instruction. The findings indicated a clear preference for offline classes, with students citing better engagement, motivation, and social interaction. However, a significant number of students appreciated the flexibility and convenience of online classes. The results suggest that while online learning offers certain benefits, offline physical education classes remain essential for effective physical skill development and student engagement. Recommendations for integrating both modes in future PE curricula are discussed
