Author(s): Basim Mohammed Ibadi

Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to develop a recreational program using small games to develop certain elements of physical fitness for fifth-grade students, and i examine how a recreational program with minor activities influences developing certain elements of physical fitness for fifth-grade students. The study followed the experimental approach. community was represented by (48) fifth-grade primary school students at Al-Itidal School in Babylon Governorate. The primary Twenty students that were chosen at random (by lottery) were included in the sample. Two groups were created out of them: the control group, which included (10) students and used the traditional teaching method, and the second was the experimental group, which included (10) students and used the recreational program. (Four) students from the same research community were also recruited to conduct exploratory studies. Among the researcher's most significant findings is that: The recreational program using small games effectively contributed to developing the physical fitness components (speed, flexibility, and agility) of fifth-grade primary school students, and the prescribed curriculum, after the researcher provided the necessary equipment and tools for its implementation, had a favorable effect on the growth of specific motor and physical skills. Among the researchers' most crucial suggestions is the following: Turn on the usage of locally manufactured alternative assistive devices in physical education classes as part of the necessary equipment and tools for primary school students, given their proven efficiency and effectiveness in motivating students to engage in sports activities.
