Impact of balanced diet on physical fitness of powerlifters: A meta-analysis

Author(s): Lavu D Govekar

Abstract:
This paper explores the significant influence of balanced nutrition on the physical fitness of power lifters. Powerlifting demands immense strength, power, and endurance, which necessitate optimal nutritional support for performance enhancement and recovery. A comprehensive understanding of macronutrient and micronutrient requirements tailored to individual needs is crucial for maximizing training adaptations and achieving peak performance. Adequate intake of protein, carbohydrates, and fats facilitates muscle repair, glycogen replenishment, and energy production, thereby promoting muscle hypertrophy, strength gains, and overall physical fitness. Additionally, proper hydration status is essential for maintaining fluid balance, thermoregulation, and cognitive function during intense training sessions. Micronutrient adequacy supports metabolic efficiency, immune function, and overall health, contributing to sustained performance improvements in power lifters. This abstract underscore the pivotal role of balanced nutrition in optimizing physical fitness and performance outcomes among power lifters, highlighting the importance of tailored dietary strategies for achieving success in the sport.
