Abstract:
This study examined the validity and reliability of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire-Short Form (IPAQ-SF) and Self-Rated Health Short Form 36 (SRH SF-36) in assessing physical health improvements through aerobic dance. The SRH SF-36 is a subjective measure of quality of life, reflecting an individual's overall health perception. The study involved 30 participants engaged in an aerobic dance program for at least one month. Data collection used the IPAQ-SF, which consists of seven questions describing aerobic dance activity, and the SRH SF-36, which includes four physical health components: Physical Function (PF), Role Physical (RP), Body Pain (BP), and General Health (GH). Pearson correlation analysis assessed validity, while Cronbach's Alpha tested reliability. The results showed strong validity (r > 0.5) and high reliability (Cronbach's Alpha > 0.7). These findings confirm the SRH SF-36 as an effective tool for evaluating the impact of aerobic exercise on perceived physical health.
