Differences in the level of optimism of volleyball athletes in the mutiara club and pervas club sleman district

Abstract:
This study aims to: (1) Knowing the level of optimism of volleyball athletes at Mutiara Club and Pervas Club. Sleman Regency, (2) Knowing the level of optimism of volleyball athletes at Mutiara Club and Pervas Club. Sleman Regency, (3) Knowing the difference in the level of optimism of volleyball athletes at Mutiara Club and Pervas Club Sleman Regency. This research is a comparative descriptive. The study population was volleyball athletes at the Mutiara Club and the Sleman Regency Pervas Club totaling 124 athletes. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The criteria are (1) still actively training at Mutiara Club and Pervas Club Sleman Regency, (2) male and female, (3) at least 14 years old, (4) have participated in matches. Based on these criteria, the sample in this study amounted to 82 athletes, with details of 42 Mutiara Club athletes and 40 Pervas Club athletes. The optimism level instrument used a questionnaire. Data analysis using independent-samples t-test. The results showed that (1) The level of optimism of volleyball athletes at the Mutiara club was in the “very low” category of 0.00% (0 athletes), “low” by 26.19% (11 athletes), “sufficient” by 40.48% (17 athletes), “high” by 33.33% (14 athletes), and “very high” by 0.00% (0 athletes). (2) The level of optimism of volleyball athletes at the Pervas club is in the “very low” category of 0.00% (0 athletes), “low” by 5.00% (2 athletes), “moderate” by 22.50% (9 athletes), “high” by 72.50% (29 athletes), and “very high” by 0.00% (0 athletes). (3) There is a significant difference in the level of optimism of volleyball athletes at Mutiara and Pervas clubs. The level of optimism of volleyball athletes in the Pervas club is higher than the level of optimism of volleyball athletes in Mutiara, with a difference of 17.55.
