Abstract:Background and Aim: This study investigates how satisfaction among female handball players can assist coaches in designing effective training to enhance psychological, technical, and tactical performance. It specifically aims to determine whether a significant relationship exists between satisfaction and self-confidence among female handball players at the Third Al-Karkh Girls’ Secondary School.
Methods: A descriptive, correlational design was employed. The study population consisted of 30 female players registered during the 2023-2024 academic year, 25 of whom were selected for the main sample and 5 for a pilot test. Variables were identified and validated by experts, and data were collected using newly developed and adapted scales for self-confidence and satisfaction.
Results: Statistical analysis revealed high levels of both self-confidence and satisfaction among the participants, with a statistically significant positive correlation between these two variables.
Conclusion: The findings underscore the importance of regularly measuring self-confidence and satisfaction to enhance performance outcomes. Coaches are encouraged to utilize the self-confidence scale for diagnosing and improving athletes’ psychological readiness. Developing targeted training programs that focus on elevating satisfaction and self-confidence is recommended, as these factors substantially influence athletic performance.
