Abstract: The current research paper delivers a historical overview on the evolution of technologies including tennis rackets and balls by systematic literature review (SLR). arguing that advancements in composite materials have fundamentally transformed the sport. This review synthesizes findings from various studies that explore the impact of material progressions, technological influences, mechanical performance, and testing procedures on the evolution of tennis rackets and balls. The superiority of current composite materials as compared to those used in the past is emphasised. These materials possess exceptional characteristics that contribute to the ongoing trend of crafting increasingly lightweight tennis rackets, simultaneously enhancing impact resistance and minimizing vibrations experienced by players. Consequently, this evolution has resulted in sharp comfort and reduced weight during sports use. This study argues that the evolution of composite materials has not only improved performance but also transformed the dynamics of modern tennis by favouring power-based gameplay over traditional techniques.
