Assessment of speed ability and explosive strength among intercollegiate male Kabaddi and Kho-Kho players

Abstract:The purpose of the study is to compare explosive strength and speed ability among intercollegiate Kabaddi and Kho-Kho players. The subjects for this study were randomly selected thirty male intercollegiate Kabaddi and thirty male intercollegiate Kho-Kho players whose ages ranged between 18 and 25 years. The standing broad jump and the 50-meter dash were conducted to measure explosive strength and speed abilities of the players respectively. The descriptive statistics, such as mean, standard deviation and t-test were applied (at a 0.05 significance level) for the comparison of explosive strength and speed. Study resulted in a significant difference in explosive strength and no significant difference found in speed ability between the Kabaddi & Kho-Kho players.
