Abstract:
In order to determine the differences between the pre- and post-test results for learning some fundamental basketball skills for students in the control and experimental groups, this paper aims to develop an educational curriculum based on the overlapping wave’s strategy. Because the two-group equivalent approach (an experimental group and a control group with a pre- and post-test) is appropriate for the nature of the study, the researchers employed the experimental method. The 70 first-year middle school students of Akkad Secondary School for Boys in the Najaf Governorate for the academic year 2022-2023 made up the research community. 30 kids made up the primary experimental sample, which was chosen at random and split into two experimental and control groups by lottery. Each group included 15 pupils and represented 42.15 percent of the community as a whole. One of the researcher's most significant findings is that: The wave’s strategy in the curriculum helped basketball students learn how to dribble and pass the chest. This strategy also allows students to think during hands-on lessons, which helps them develop their ability to think quickly about fundamental basketball skills. Among the most crucial suggestions made by the researchers is that: Learning some fundamental basketball skills for various samples and using this technique to other skills in the physical education class for this academic stage and for different stages is essential.
