Abstract:
Background: All over India and, in fact, most of Asia, kabaddi is a traditional outdoor game. Strength, speed, power, agility, endurance, balance, flexibility, along with coordination are all crucial for kabaddi players. In sports, dynamic balance (DB) is crucial for injury prevention and rehabilitation. Majority of team and field sports require agility. Agility is essential in kabaddi because of its nature of rapid, high intensity activities interspersed with brief rest periods. Balance and agility hold equal significance for players, influencing their performance.
Objective: This Objective of the study is to investigate the correlation between dynamic balance and agility in recreational male kabaddi players.
Methodology: Thirty male recreational kabaddi players aged 18 to 23 years participated in current research. Study participants were those who competed in inter college as well as district tournaments. DB test assessed “Lower quarter y balance test” (YBT-LQ) along with agility was evaluated utilizing “modified agility T-test” (MAT).
Result: From the data analysis which exhibited a robust negative relationship (-0.727) between MAT along with YBT-LQ composite scores. Since Lesser T-test values indicate better agility and higher YBT-LQ composite scores indicate better dynamic balance this means that a positive correlation is there among agility with dynamic balance.
Conclusion: A substantial correlation was there among agility performance and the balance measures. Which indicates balance can play a significant role in male Recreational kabaddi players. Therefore, in order to improve players' dynamic balance, boost their agility and overall performance; balance training exercises may be advised by coaches, physical therapists, as well as trainers.
