Analysis of emotional intelligence psychological variables of volleyball players

Author(s): Kamaljeet Kaur

Abstract:
This study examined the differences in emotional intelligence between high and low performing volleyball players from schools, colleges, and clubs in Punjab. Using Hyde et al.'s Emotional Intelligence Scale, data from 240 male athletes were analyzed. Results revealed significant differences across several emotional intelligence components, including self-awareness, empathy, and self-motivation, favoring high-performing players. The findings underscore the importance of emotional intelligence in sports performance, suggesting that enhanced emotional regulation and interpersonal skills contribute to athletic success.
