Abstract:
“Sports training is a coaching process, based on scientific principles, aiming at preparing sportsperson for higher performances in sports competition. Sports’ training is a scientifically based and systematically organized process which through a planned and scientific effect on the performance ability and performance readiness aims at sports perfection and performance improvement as well as the contest in sports competition. (Mahaboobjan, 2013). Core improves the qualities of strength training stability and balance. The purpose of study was designed to find out the effects of core strength and SAQ training on selected physiological variables among male Inter Collegiate Players. For this purpose, 40 students were selected as subjects from Adikavi Nannayya University in intercollegiate tournaments in Andhra Pradesh by applying random sampling method. The age of the subjects ranged from 18 to 25 years. This study, 40 College players were randomly selected from Adikavi Nannayya University in intercollegiate tournaments in Andhra Pradesh. The selected subjects were divided into 4 equal groups. Group-1 was core strength training group, group-2 was SAQ training, group-3 was combined core strength and SAQ training group and group-4 was the control group. The following standard variables were selected for the study such as physiological variables. Physiological variables was breath holding. The training period was 14 weeks 3 alternate days per week, one and a half-hour in the evening session. For the pre and post-test randomized control group design was followed for this study. The collected data were statistically analyzed to check whether any significant difference exists. This will be done by applying the dependent ‘t’ test, analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) and Scheffe’s post hoc test. The level of significance was fixed at 0.05 level.
