Association and predictive ability of counter movement jump performance in relation to lower extremity anthropometry of male badminton player

Author(s): Tiyasa Hoom

Abstract:
The present study is an effort to find out the effect of anthropometrical measurement of lower extremity on countermovement jump of male badminton players. The investigator selected twelve state-level male badminton players from National Sports University, Manipur for the study. They were tested countermovement jump by force plate. Measuring tape used for measuring thigh length and mid-thigh circumference. The findings revealed that there has positive correlation between countermovement jump and length of the thigh. Similarly statistical analysis revealed that there has positive correlation between countermovement jump and the mid-thigh circumference. The finding of the study revealed that there were significant association between thigh length and thigh circumference with countermovement jump of badminton players. Increase of muscle mass can increase muscular force and power output.
