The impact of early participation in sports on the development of social skills: A student perception study

Abstract:The purpose of this study was to investigate students' perceptions of whether participation in games and sports from a young age helps children develop important social skills. Data were collected using a questionnaire method, disseminated through email and social media platforms of the questionnaires distributed, 41 were returned. Descriptive statistics were employed to analyse the data, with a mean response of 4.41, indicating that students were highly satisfied with the notion that participation in games and sports fosters the development of social skills in children. The study concludes that students strongly believe in the positive impact of early sports participation on social skill development. The age group of respondents ranged from 20 to 28 years.
