Abstract:This study aimed to explore the influence of socio-economic status (SES) on eating behaviors among male students in the Department of Physical Education. A total of 105 participants were selected, categorized into three SES groups: upper, middle, and lower. Eight variables related to eating behavior, such as hunger, food responsiveness, emotional overeating, and satiety responsiveness, were examined using the Adult Eating Behavior Questionnaire (AEBQ). SES was assessed using the Kuppuswamy SES scale, which classifies individuals based on education, occupation, and family income. The study employed a cross-sectional design and utilized One-Way ANOVA and Tukey HSD post-hoc tests for statistical analysis. Results revealed no significant differences in eating behaviors across SES groups (
p>0.05). The findings suggest that SES does not significantly impact eating behavior patterns in this sample. Further studies with larger, more diverse populations are recommended to explore potential subtle relationships.
