Investigation of personality traits among men players of body contact and non-body contact sports

Abstract:The purpose of this study was to compare the personality traits among men players of body contact and non-body contact sports. For the purpose of this study a total of 150 male subjects were chosen from body Contact Game (n=75) and Non body contact Game (n=75) from Purvanchal Region of Uttar-Pradesh were selected as subject. The subjects were chosen using Quota sampling technique. Multidimensional assessment of personality (MAP) scale, developed by Sanjay Vohra (1993) was used as a psychological tool for measured a personality trait. Descriptive statistics, and t-test were applied for analysing the data. The level of significance was set at 0.05 levels. The results of the study showed that there was a significant difference between participation in games group of body contact and non-body contact games players on the selected personality traits such as competition, and mental health.
