The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of Taijiquan exercises on flexibility, balance, and leg strength among college students. The study used seventy-six students from three random sections of Physical Education 2 taking up Taijiquan, namely: BMMA, BSA 191C and BSA 191D. A 15-week Taijiquan Training Program was employed among the subjects, conducted two times a week for 80 min per session. Everyone was subjected to pre-test and post-test using wall squat, sit-and-reach, and one-leg-standing balance as fitness parameters. After the intervention, a significant increase was observed between the respondents’ performance in three fitness parameters. This study has confirmed that the practice of Taijiquan has improved the muscle strength, flexibility, and balance.Pages: 161-165 | 200 Views 7 DownloadsDownload Full Article:
