Digital literacy in education: A double-edged sword?

Author(s): Amit Kumar Singh

Abstract:
In today's digital age, technology is integral to daily life, including education. While online courses and digital textbooks transform learning, they also create challenges, notably the need for digital literacy. Digital literacy empowers students with effective information access and use but raises concerns about privacy, security, and online source reliability. Thus, digital literacy is a concern for students, teachers, and parents alike. This paper explains both the benefits and risks of digital literacy in education, discussing its potential to both empower and threaten educational practices.
