A comparative analysis of social support between district and state level hockey players: A key towards success

Participants: For the purpose of the present study, forty (N=40), female inter-college and inter-university level hockey players between the age group of 17-25 years were selected. The purposive sampling technique was used to attain the objectives of the study. All the subjects, after having been informed about the objective and protocol of the study, gave their consent and volunteered to participate in this study.
Statistical analyses: The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 14.0 was used for all analyses. Student’s t-test was used to assess the between group differences. For testing the hypotheses, the level of significance was set at 0.05.
Conclusion: Summarizing from the above findings we can say that significant differences were found between Inter-College and Inter-University hockey players on the sub-variables of Social Support i.e., Friends, Family and Others Significant Persons.
